Board of Supervisors to Consider Rockingham as Second Amendment Sanctuary

On Wednesday December 11 at 3 pm, the Rockingham County Board of Supervisors will be discussing the possibility of declaring Rockingham County a second amendment “sanctuary.” Many rural counties in Virgina have been doing this, even though under Virginia state law they are explicitly prohibited from adopting any resolutions having anything to do with guns. Ironically, the prohibition was put in place (and vigorously enforced) by the same people who are now calling for a resolution. It is important that Rockingham progressives who are committed to preventing gun violence show up at this meeting and send a clear message to the Board of Supervisors to unanimously reject this proposal.

The Board of Supervisors will meet at the Rockingham County Administration Center, 20 East Gay Street, in Harrisonburg.
