The Rockingham County Democratic Committee, herein referred to as RCDC, will hold an assembled caucus on January 32021, at 7 pm. Due to current surge in Covid cases, the meeting will be held through zoom (see below for the invitation link). The caucus is for the purpose of electing the new membership of RCDC pursuant to the Democratic Party of Virginia Party Plan.

I. Participation

Every Democrat who is a registered voter in Rockingham County is urged to attend and participate. If an individual does not appear on the Registered Voter List, they will not be allowed to participate. Participants will also be required to sign a Caucus Participation Form stating that they:

  1. Are a Democrat;
  2. Are a registered voter within Rockingham County
  3. Believe in the principles of the Democratic Party; and
  4. Does not intend to support any candidates opposed to a Democratic nominee in the next ensuing election.

Membership Filing:  Each person seeking to become a member of RCDC shall complete and return the RCDC Membership Filing Form to the Democratic Office (850 West Market Street, Harrisonburg, VA) by Monday January 3 at 7:00PM. Membership Filing Forms can be mailed to the address above, and should be directed to C. Leckey, Chair. All mail must be received before January 3 at 12:00PM.

There shall be no filing fee for any membership candidates. III. Conduct of the Caucus The zoom meeting will open at 6:30 pm and access to it will be closed  at 7 pm. Upon closing, only those participants who have registered or are in line to register at 7 pm will be permitted to participate.  IV. Officer Elections Immediately following the adjournment of the assembled caucus, the newly formed RCDC will meet for the sole purpose of electing the officers of the committee.  V. Affirmative Action It shall be the duty and goal of all members of the Rockingham County Democratic Committee to seek out and encourage the broadest possible participation within the committee, and in its membership, of all duly qualified citizens without regard to race, sex, age, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnic identity, disability, or economic status. VI. Cancellation In the event of cancellation due to emergency conditions all uncontested candidates will be elected.
