Kitchen Almost Doubles Opponent in Small-Dollar Donations

AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA — With 85 contributions of $100 or less, Jennifer Kitchen received almost twice the number of small-dollar donations as her opponent. Kitchen raised $11,032 and ended the filing period with $15,629 cash on-hand. Finance reports for July 1-August 31 were due to the Virginia Department of Elections on Monday and posted online at the Virginia Public Access Project.

“I’m thankful for every person who pitched in to our grassroots campaign and those who are out with us every weekend meeting voters where they live. We need representatives who are listening to their constituents, not corporate donors, which is why as your delegate, I will fight for campaign finance reform to limit money in politics and restrict corporate financial influence.”

Jennifer Kitchen is a community organizer who founded the nonpartisan SAW Citizen Action Network, helped organize dozens of events, and developed dialogue on issues including income inequality, immigration reform, LGBTQ+ rights, and the 2nd Amendment.

The 25th District includes western Albemarle County, the northeastern corner of Augusta County, and the bottom of Rockingham County to the West Virginia border.
