Y’know, the Republican Party has been trying for years to convince people that their views, and those of their allies in the NRA and VCDL, are in line with those of responsible gun owners, like me.
Bull. There’s nothing controversial about background checks, or keeping guns out of the hands of domestic violence abusers and terrorists. If you want to concealed carry a firearm, you should dang well be required to have a permit and training. And it’s all good and well to talk a big game about mental health issues, but that means actually putting in the hard work to provide that support.
Hey, if they wanna talk about guns, great! Let’s do it, absolutely. But that means not catering to party flacks, lobbyists, and special interest groups with their own agenda– it means standing up for Virginia and Virginians before all else. And by God, that’s exactly what I intend to do in Richmond.
