My name is Kellen Squire and I’m running for the Virginia House of Delegates in the 58th General Assembly District, covering Rockingham, Albemarle, Fluvanna, and Greene counties!
I’m a father of three beautiful children, a husband to a fantastic wife, and proud graduate of the University of Virginia.
I serve my fellow Virginians as an Emergency Room nurse here in the 58th, and every day I see the struggles of our rural community. The strength of our district’s citizens has inspired me to represent our community in the House of Delegates.
Our nation was founded- right here in the Commonwealth of Virginia- by courageous, principled Americans who took on the seemingly impossible fight for the cause of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Our leaders- at all levels and from every party, and every part of the political spectrum- aren’t living up to the amazing example our forefathers set for us. The political discourse in this country is so toxic, it’s infecting us; pitting neighbor against neighbor. Virginian against Virginian. Dispassionate discourse, the cornerstone of our Republic, is becoming a thing of the past, and our leaders- up to and even including the President of the United States himself- not only are championing that ideal, but seem to thrive on it.
As Virginians- as Americans- we deserve better.
It’s time. Time for a new generation to take the torch of leadership and civic engagement and restore the ideals set forth by the founding fathers. Time to stand up and fight against the discord and vitriol in our Commonwealth, because, by God, Virginia is worth fighting for. It always has been; it always will be.
And that’s precisely what I aim to do.
In representing the 58th district, I will keep the promises I make to my community, and stand strong for the interests of our area. I will prioritize the needs and concerns of every day folks and work tirelessly to address the issues we face every day. I am well-acquainted with the concerns of Virginians. As a nurse, I see my fellow Virginians in times of need, crisis, and worry every day, and know that it is my duty to provide compassionate, competent care for all people. I promise to you that as your representative in the House of Delegates, I will use the same care and consideration as I advocate for our community’s needs and interests.
I’m an avid outdoorsman, a devoted family man, and noted purveyor of groan-inducing dad jokes and puns. I am a committed and unapologetic Christian, and I find guidance through my faith and relationship with God.
I am ready to stand up for working Virginians, to fight tirelessly for families, and to ensure that tomorrow brings a promising and prosperous future for our district.
