Time is moving fast as we head into the primaries and continue building our team of teams to support the Blue Tsunami that’s coming.
This past Sunday, the Harrisonburg and Rockingham County Democratic Committees brought together a fantastic Candidate Meet & Greet at DemsHQ — 16 candidates, nearly 90 neighbors, great conversations, and plenty of good food. It was the Valley at its best: neighbors showing up, connecting, and building community. Thank you to everyone who made it happen.
Now it’s time to keep that momentum going. DemsHQ is getting busy. You are needed to step in and help lead and support key efforts: Telephone Tuesdays, parade coordination, early voting, and the fair booth. There’s a role for everyone, whether you’re front and center or helping behind the scenes.
Telephone Tuesdays, which is a weekly phone banking session. We are learning more about the power of the phone system that is installed at the DemsHQ. If you are interested in leading this effort or participating in Telephone Tuesdays, please contact Kathy Beery.
Parade season is quickly approaching. We need a leader who will take on coordinating this effort. We will also need as hands as we can muster to support the various aspects of getting the word out to our neighbors on and along the parade routes. You don’t need to march as there are a variety of support roles that are needed. Please reach out to Gleamer Sullivan for more information.
Fair season is also sneaking up on us, and we need someone to take on the coordination of the fair booths. As in years past, we will have a double booth and share it with the Harrisonburg Democratic Committee. Since the fair is post primary, I expect that we will host the Democratic candidates during the fair week. The Rockingham County Fair will be August 10-15.
